Shana Tova Cards – Rosh Hashanah is the beginning of the Yamim Nora’im (High Holidays). The heavenly day of Yom Kippur when we accumulate in the synagogue for 25 long stretches of fasting, petition and motivation, is only seven days after the fact. The days in the middle of (known as the 10 Days of Repentance, or the Ten Days of Return) are a particularly hopeful time for teshuvah, coming back to G‑d. Yom Kippur is trailed by the blissful occasions of Sukkot and Simchat Torah.
The period of the High Holidays is a period for an epic trip for the spirit, and Rosh Hashanah is the place everything starts.
